Matii FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Zavalía the free kick. In the 4th minute, Nemesio Terciero hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Robustiano Poz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 6th minute. Eriberto Gartzen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 19 minutes into the match, Matii FC's goal looked a bit too open when Igor Tavio came free, but Eriberto Gartzen reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Matii FC getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. Herminio Cortez hit a great ball. After 20 minutes of play, Zavalía's Igor Tavio made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Eriberto Gartzen was left in no man's land by his defense there! A collision led to Zavalía getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. Eusebio Nuñez hit a great ball. Alejandro Hitzeder received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Melchor Quexal tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Nemesio Terciero got free with Melchor Quexal in the 33rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Nemesio Terciero received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Melchor Quexal tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Igor Tavio in the 39th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Eriberto Gartzen prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Robustiano Poz came up free with the goalie in the 46th minute, the Zavalía fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Robustiano Poz couldn't finish the play. After the first half Zavalía were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Alejandro Hitzeder made a kick off. Eriberto Gartzen was out of position in the 58 minute of play, and Robustiano Poz capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Robustiano Poz really showed his touch with that goal: 0-3. Robustiano Poz might have been able to make a better finish in the 64th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Eriberto Gartzen. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Robustiano Poz ran back to his position shaking his head. Matii FC's Eriberto Gartzen proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 75th minute of the match, managed to save Matii FC from getting a goal against them. Igor Tavio could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 77th minute of the match, but Eriberto Gartzen made a huge save. Eriberto Gartzen made a fantastic save in the 94th minute, when Igor Tavio sent off a good shot on target. When Robustiano Poz came up free with the goalie in the 95th minute, the Zavalía fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Robustiano Poz couldn't finish the play. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Zavalía eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
