San Lorenzo were furious when Efrain Aires was red carded, 9 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. A collision led to San Lorenzo getting a freekick after 10 minutes play. Efrain Aires hit a great ball. 11 minutes into the game, Celestino Ur cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Zeledon Rivas was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 15th minute, Nestor Ilazki hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Roman Paulin came up free with the goalie in the 16th minute, the San Lorenzo fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Roman Paulin couldn't finish the play. Mapuchetos's Nicasio Reno proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 17th minute of the match, managed to save Mapuchetos from getting a goal against them. 19 minutes into the game, Jóan Ghione was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Mapuchetos's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave San Lorenzo the free kick. Nicasio Reno showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Felix Gipuzkoa in the 20th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristo Paul in the 22nd minute of play forced San Lorenzo's goalkeeper Zeledon Rivas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Celestino Ur scored 0-2 in the 24th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Zeledon Rivas, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Mapuchetos's Nicasio Reno proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 29th minute of the match, managed to save Mapuchetos from getting a goal against them. If Celestino Ur had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 34th minute Celestino Ur shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zeledon Rivas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Felix Gipuzkoa made a kick off. Zeledon Rivas made an important save on a dangerous shot by Maximino Nayely in the 51st minute. The supporters of San Lorenzo booed when Mapuchetos was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jóan Ghione didn't get a good kick on the ball. Zeledon Rivas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Celestino Ur in the 57th minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet as Mapuchetos's Celestino Ur slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Zeledon Rivas. That made the score 0-4 after 57 minutes of play. The supporters of San Lorenzo booed when Mapuchetos was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 63 match minutes in a wonderful position. Stig-Ove Deckberg didn't get a good kick on the ball. With an all-out effort, Mapuchetos's Zeledon Rivas threw himself towards the right post 65 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Celestino Ur, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Prudencio Nevada hit a great freekick 69 minutes into the match. San Lorenzo's Zeledon Rivas proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 72nd minute of the match, managed to save San Lorenzo from getting a goal against them. After 74 played minutes San Lorenzo got a freekick which was hit by Saul Lucado. In the 76th minute, Cristo Paul fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Zeledon Rivas, passed just outside the right post. Zeledon Rivas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Celestino Ur, who was totally free with the ball in the 76th minute. Domingo Abeitia hit a great freekick 77 minutes into the match. San Lorenzo's Felix Gipuzkoa got a good chance for a goal in the 81st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Mapuchetos's Maximino Nayely got a free kick in the 83rd minute. Nestor Ilazki hit a great freekick 92 minutes into the match. In the 95th minute, Felix Gipuzkoa got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Mapuchetos's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
