Chiyuyoc FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave SanaZion FC the free kick. The supporters of SanaZion FC booed when Chiyuyoc FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Angel Naldo didn't get a good kick on the ball. 23 minutes into the match, Placido Marquez notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of SanaZion FC's Mauricio Natanael. Mauricio Natanael was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After a defensive mix-up in Chiyuyoc FC's zone, Amadeo Martinez stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Maximo Urdaspal came out of the goal and Amadeo Martinez tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Baltasar Fero in the 34th minute of play forced SanaZion FC's goalkeeper Mauricio Natanael to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Desiderio Jenaro came up free with the goalie in the 36th minute, the SanaZion FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Desiderio Jenaro couldn't finish the play. Mauricio Natanael showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Baltasar Fero, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.
In the 51st match minute, SanaZion FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Amadeo Martinez to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, SanaZion FC's Amadeo Martinez got a free kick in the 56th minute. Baltasar Fero made a well adjusted shot against goal in the 58thth minute coming free in front of the goal, but Mauricio Natanael would not let the ball come through at any expense and made a nice save by the left post. After having played for 68 minutes, Placido Marquez managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Chiyuyoc FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Placido Marquez was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Baltasar Fero sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Bernardo Santos fired away a difficult shot at goal in the 74th minute. He almost succeeded, but the ball went over. It was a very nice shot. After having played for 76 minutes, Desiderio Jenaro managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SanaZion FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Desiderio Jenaro was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 77 played minutes Chiyuyoc FC got a freekick which was hit by Angel Naldo. After 80 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for SanaZion FC! Baltasar Fero sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Placido Marquez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 95 minutes into the match, SanaZion FC's goal looked a bit too open when Placido Marquez came free, but Mauricio Natanael reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to SanaZion FC getting a freekick after 96 minutes play. Amadeo Martinez hit a great ball. 98 minutes into the match, Placido Marquez dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Mauricio Natanael, 0-3. The Chiyuyoc FC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Chiyuyoc FC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
