Luisito Dolcet made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. Gregorio Rexino hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. Luisito Dolcet took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Santiago Sesuldo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Luisito Dolcet made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Santiago Sesuldo in the 21st minute of play. Luisito Dolcet showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Santiago Sesuldo in the 22nd minute of the match. Cosme Chuse charged in rather forcefully in the 32nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Cosme Chuse the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 32 played minutes Ateneo got a freekick which was hit by Cosme Chuse. Ateneo's Luisito Dolcet played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Santiago Sesuldo in the 34th minute of play. A collision led to Galacticos FC getting a freekick after 36 minutes play. Santiago Sesuldo hit a great ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Santiago Sesuldo in the 40th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Luisito Dolcet prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Luisito Dolcet took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Santiago Sesuldo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Luisito Dolcet stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Santiago Sesuldo's shot from short distance in the 45th minute. After 47 minutes Ateneo's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Apolo Fiz who took care of the corner kick. After taking down the ball on Galacticos FC's corner Apolo Fiz fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Luisito Dolcet quite easily take care of the ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Santiago Sesuldo was the one to do the kick off. Esteve Loiola received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. Luisito Dolcet tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Through an outstanding action, after 56 minutes, Luisito Dolcet successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. After a rather tough play, Ateneo's Rafael Uhin got a free kick in the 58th minute. Galacticos FC's Apolo Fiz got a good chance for a goal in the 65th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 69th minute Jeremias Casomiro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Teobaldo Mikelar saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Galacticos FC getting a freekick after 70 minutes play. Erasmo Barbosa hit a great ball. 71 minutes into the match, Galacticos FC's goal looked a bit too open when Braulio Silban came free, but Teobaldo Mikelar reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 73rd minute Santiago Sesuldo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luisito Dolcet saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 75thth minute of the game Santiago Sesuldo who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ateneo's Luisito Dolcet was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Luisito Dolcet made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Santiago Sesuldo in the 77th minute of play. When Albano Balesio fell near the penalty area in the 79th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Galacticos FC's protests and gave Albano Balesio a yellow card for diving instead. Ateneo's Orlando Telesforo got a good chance for a goal in the 81st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Santiago Sesuldo in the 87th minute of play forced Ateneo's goalkeeper Luisito Dolcet to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Erasmo Barbosa might have been able to make a better finish in the 88th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Luisito Dolcet. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Erasmo Barbosa ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 91st minute, Cleto Eliazar got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Santiago Sesuldo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Ateneo's Ramiro Ebardo got a free kick in the 95th minute. Luisito Dolcet made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Esteve Loiola in the 96th minute of play. Galacticos FC's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
