When Guaberto Presebal fell near the penalty area in the 2nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Merlo's protests and gave Guaberto Presebal a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Comunicaciones booed when Merlo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 2 match minutes in a wonderful position. Guaberto Presebal didn't get a good kick on the ball. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Iker Palos prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Iker Palos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rene Sotero, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 45 minutes into the match, Ubaldo Basajaun notched a goal, 2-4, to the right of Merlo's Iker Palos. Iker Palos was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Disappointed in the 2-4 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Emiliano Evarado's late challenge caught a Merlo's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. The crowd rose to their feet as Comunicaciones's Emiliano Evarado slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Iker Palos. That made the score 2-6 after 70 minutes of play. Iker Palos didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Rene Sotero went, in the 76th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-7 was the resulting score. In the 82nd minute, Jesus Jaume ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Iker Palos was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-8. Iker Palos was a little too slow when Rene Sotero got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 85th minute. The score was now 2-9. In the 89th minute Jeronimo Belasko shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Faustino Firman saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Iker Palos was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Emiliano Evarado showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-10 in the 90 minute of play. In the 94th minute, Jesus Jaume reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Iker Palos. The goal made the score 2-11.
