When Sylwester Falk came up free with the goalie in the 22nd minute, the Academia f.c. fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sylwester Falk couldn't finish the play. In the 23rd minute, Pedro Abadie fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Silvano Maidana, passed just outside the right post. Fernando Peruxu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luis Liher having to interfere. Joel Eufemio was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 35 minutes into the match. In a very dangerous position, a player in Academia f.c. fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 34th minute. Penalty! The goalkeeper, Silvano Maidana, was totally fooled by Pieres's Rolando Nesor, who 37 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. In the 39th match minute, Academia f.c. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sylwester Falk to maneuver through the defense. Sylwester Falk fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luis Liher having to interfere. Fernando Peruxu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luis Liher having to interfere. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Carmelo Shantala recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 54th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 55 minutes, Clemente Millrick mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Pieres and the Academia f.c. players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 55th match minute, Pieres was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Clemente Millrick to maneuver through the defense. With a little luck, Pieres's Luis Liher got control of the ball when Sylwester Falk tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 58 played minutes Pieres got a freekick which was hit by Artemio Palban. Fernando Peruxu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Luis Liher took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fernando Peruxu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 71st minute, Carmelo Shantala hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, Pieres's Clemente Millrick got a free kick in the 74th minute. Luis Liher made a fantastic save in the 76th minute, when Sylwester Falk sent off a good shot on target. In the 77th match minute, Pieres was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mario Maxin to maneuver through the defense. Luis Liher made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fernando Peruxu in the 78th minute of play. After having played for 80 minutes, Sylwester Falk managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Academia f.c.'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Sylwester Falk was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Fernando Peruxu struck a weak shot in the 83rd minute. Luis Liher didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Academia f.c.. Roque Madaleno's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Luis Liher read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 85th minute of play. Cesc Rooney received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. Luis Liher tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Pieres succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though Academia f.c. had controlled the match.
