Sergio Oliviero hit a great freekick 4 minutes into the match. In the 9th minute, Arif Gaffar Vecid reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Maximo Gaueko. The goal made the score 1-0. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ubaldo Inguma got free with Maximo Gaueko in the 12th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Maximo Gaueko made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Elias Marques in the 13th minute of play. In the 17th minute, one of Independiente Olavarria:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Independiente Olavarria. In the 25th minute of the match Independiente Olavarria got a corner. Matos Stars's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Humberto Bartoleme ran over to the corner to take the kick. Independiente Olavarria's Humberto Bartoleme was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Teodoro Birjaio in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Independiente Olavarria's Maximo Gaueko played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ubaldo Inguma in the 27th minute of play. 31 minutes into the match, Ubaldo Inguma had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Maximo Gaueko. Independiente Olavarria's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ubaldo Inguma was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. Jimeno Lia received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Maximo Gaueko tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Elias Marques had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Elias Marques was the one to do the kick off. In the 52nd minute, Cesar Nastasio got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Jeremias Belo came up free with the goalie in the 53rd minute, the Independiente Olavarria fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jeremias Belo couldn't finish the play. If Cesar Nastasio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Maximo Gaueko came out of the goal in the 57th minute to try and stop a shot by Matos Stars's Jimeno Lia. But to his dismay, Jimeno Lia quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-0. 62 minutes into the game, Elias Marques cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-0. Maximo Gaueko was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Ubaldo Inguma took the ball and in the 66 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Maximo Gaueko. Maximo Gaueko dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 5-0. Maximo Gaueko showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jimeno Lia, who was totally free with the ball in the 73rd minute. Matos Stars's Elias Marques got a good chance for a goal in the 78th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 88 minutes into the match, Elias Marques had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Maximo Gaueko. Independiente Olavarria's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Elias Marques was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 7-0. Maximo Gaueko made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Elias Marques in the 91st minute of play. In the 92nd minute Ubaldo Inguma shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Maximo Gaueko saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
