The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The supporters of Boca Juiniors booed when INDEPENDIENTE was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. David Salamon didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 8th match minute, Boca Juiniors was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Roque Ferrando to maneuver through the defense. 13 minutes into the match, Boca Juiniors's goal looked a bit too open when David Salamon came free, but Ismael Jurgi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 13th minute, Boca Juiniors's Ciriaco Orixe seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Ciriaco Orixe the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Boca Juiniors protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Ciriaco Orixe had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. Marco Harri could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 19th minute of the match, but Ismael Jurgi made a huge save. In the 20th minute, INDEPENDIENTE's Marco Harri ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Ismael Jurgi. Ismael Jurgi yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-0. Ismael Jurgi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gavino Guillelmus, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. 33 minutes into the match, Boca Juiniors's goalkeeper Ismael Jurgi had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ramiro Iaki. Ismael Jurgi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from David Salamon, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Boca Juiniors's defense didn't have a chance, in the 39th minute, when David Salamon scored to the left of an out of position Ismael Jurgi, making the score, 3-0. Ismael Jurgi was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Ramiro Iaki showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 4-0 in the 43 minute of play. 48 minutes into the match, Ramiro Iaki had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ismael Jurgi. Boca Juiniors's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ramiro Iaki was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 5-0.

Ramiro Iaki took the ball and in the 55 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ismael Jurgi. Ismael Jurgi dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 6-0. Ismael Jurgi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marco Harri in the 58th minute of play. Ismael Jurgi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from David Salamon, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 63rd minute, David Salamon made a precise shot to the right of Ismael Jurgi. Boca Juiniors's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 7-0. In the 67th minute, Marco Harri left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The INDEPENDIENTE fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 8-0. Ismael Jurgi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ramiro Iaki, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Rodolfo Walme stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Roque Ferrando's shot from short distance in the 71st minute. Ramiro Iaki took the ball and in the 72 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ismael Jurgi. Ismael Jurgi dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 9-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by David Salamon in the 76th minute of play forced Boca Juiniors's goalkeeper Ismael Jurgi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 79th minute Ramiro Iaki shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ismael Jurgi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ismael Jurgi didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ramiro Iaki went, in the 81st minute, to the upper right corner, 10-0 was the resulting score. If Roque Ferrando had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ismael Jurgi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from David Salamon, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Rodolfo Walme made an important save on a dangerous shot by Roque Ferrando in the 86th minute. 88 minutes into the match, David Salamon notched a goal, 11-0, to the right of Boca Juiniors's Ismael Jurgi. Ismael Jurgi was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After a rather tough play, Boca Juiniors's Benito Panfilo got a free kick in the 93rd minute. Ramiro Iaki scored 12-0 in the 94th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ismael Jurgi, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Ramiro Iaki received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 97th minute. Ismael Jurgi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. INDEPENDIENTE walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
