The referee ignored Club Deportivo Español's protests and gave Efrain Lizar a yellow card for diving instead. In the 5th minute, Efrain Lizar hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Atilano Bermudez's late challenge caught a Luyaba AFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Atilano Bermudez helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Club Deportivo Español getting a freekick after 8 minutes play. Atilano Bermudez hit a great ball. Severiano Dolfo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Paulino Perfecto, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 14 minutes into the game, Luyaba AFC's Victoriano Eneko nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Severiano Dolfo made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. Club Deportivo Español's Patricio Gaskon got a good chance for a goal in the 21st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Severiano Dolfo was a little too slow when Paulino Perfecto got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 26th minute. The score was now 2-0. Paulino Perfecto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Severiano Dolfo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Victoriano Eneko in the 34th minute of play forced Club Deportivo Español's goalkeeper Severiano Dolfo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Paulino Perfecto to make the kick off. The audience was convinced that Paulino Perfecto's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Severiano Dolfo was relentless in the 56th minute of the game.
