The Mondongo Juniors fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Angel Toli should have stopped the shot. If Gonzalo Nuñez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. If Gösta Landin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 44 minutes into the match, Mondongo Juniors's goal looked a bit too open when Gösta Landin came free, but Angel Toli reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The nice shot from Gösta Landin in the 53rdth minute just in front of the goal should have ended in point on the board, but Angel Toli had a great feel for the game and superbly saved the ball from getting in by the left post. The crowd rose to their feet as Club Deportivo Español's Gonzalo Nuñez slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Angel Toli. That made the score 1-3 after 61 minutes of play. In the 67th minute, Niceto Silviano had to be helped off the field due to a pulled leg muscle. Marcelo Polo's late challenge caught a Club Deportivo Español's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Hieronim Zuelle took the ball and in the 89 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Angel Toli. Angel Toli dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-6. Alejo Heuchel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Carmelo Liher, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Club Deportivo Español played a much better game than Mondongo Juniors and deserved their victory. The Mondongo Juniors players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
