Spectators: 7102 (Terracing: 5328, Seating: 1633, VIP seats: 141) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Ciriaco Dominguez took the kick off in the first half of the match. Evelio Lonzo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 3rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Roberto Trotta having to interfere. Roberto Trotta stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ciriaco Dominguez's shot from short distance in the 8th minute. In the 10th minute, Ciriaco Dominguez made a precise shot to the right of Roberto Trotta. Cieneguita's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. River Plate VGB's Ciriaco Dominguez got a good chance for a goal in the 14th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Evelio Lonzo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Clemente Romero in the 19th minute of play forced River Plate VGB's goalkeeper Vintilă Gherdan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Vintilă Gherdan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Clemente Romero in the 24th minute of play. When the match had gone on for 27 minutes, Ciriaco Dominguez put it in 0-2 from a short distance just to the right of Roberto Trotta. After some careless play in the Cieneguita defense, Ciriaco Dominguez kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Roberto Trotta. The Cieneguita fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Roberto Trotta should have stopped the shot. Evelio Lonzo's late challenge caught a Cieneguita's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Evelio Lonzo helped the player get up and apologised. Vintilă Gherdan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Clemente Romero, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ciriaco Dominguez in the 41st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Roberto Trotta prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a rather tough play, Cieneguita's Rosendo Bertran got a free kick in the 44th minute. Augusto Abeita kicked well hit freekick during the 45th minute of the match. Vintilă Gherdan made an important save on a dangerous shot by Hermengildo Iturri in the 46th minute. Anibal Kismi took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 48th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Roberto Trotta. Cieneguita's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-3 lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Clemente Romero stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. If Hermengildo Iturri had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Cieneguita getting a freekick after 56 minutes play. Ernesto Romelio hit a great ball. River Plate VGB's Ciriaco Dominguez got a good chance for a goal in the 60th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Urbano Omero struck a weak shot in the 61st minute. Roberto Trotta didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for River Plate VGB. In the 67th minute, Ciriaco Dominguez ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Roberto Trotta was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-4. Vintilă Gherdan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ernesto Romelio, who was totally free with the ball in the 73rd minute. With a little luck, Cieneguita's Roberto Trotta got control of the ball when Ciriaco Dominguez tried to sneak it across the goal line. Roberto Trotta came out of the goal in the 77th minute to try and stop a shot by River Plate VGB's Urbano Omero. But to his dismay, Urbano Omero quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-5. After having played for 81 minutes, Clemente Romero managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cieneguita's supporters crossed their fingers, but Clemente Romero was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Evelio Lonzo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 83rd minute. Roberto Trotta tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Roberto Trotta acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 85th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Ramiro Frutos. 86 minutes into the game, Ciriaco Dominguez was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. River Plate VGB's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Cieneguita the free kick. In the 86th match minute, River Plate VGB was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ciriaco Dominguez to maneuver through the defense. Ciriaco Dominguez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Roberto Trotta tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Roberto Trotta was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. River Plate VGB played a much better game than Cieneguita and deserved their victory. The Cieneguita players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
