The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 4 minutes LaGoma FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Jorge Comas who took care of the corner kick. After taking down the ball on Cieneguita's corner Jorge Comas fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Arnoldo Dantae quite easily take care of the ball. Arnoldo Dantae stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Hermengildo Iturri's shot from short distance in the 6th minute. Clemente Romero fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Arnoldo Dantae having to interfere. 10 minutes into the match, LaGoma FC's goal looked a bit too open when Clemente Romero came free, but Arnoldo Dantae reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Hermengildo Iturri came up free with the goalie in the 16th minute, the Cieneguita fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Hermengildo Iturri couldn't finish the play. Urbano Sotero charged in rather forcefully in the 17th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Urbano Sotero the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Urbano Sotero hit a great freekick 18 minutes into the match. Cieneguita's Roberto Trotta proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 26th minute of the match, managed to save Cieneguita from getting a goal against them. Isidoro James's late challenge caught a Cieneguita's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Isidoro James helped the player get up and apologised. Isidoro James hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. Roberto Trotta showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Abel Oriche, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. LaGoma FC's Arnoldo Dantae played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hermengildo Iturri in the 41st minute of play. After having played for 44 minutes, Abel Oriche managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. LaGoma FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Abel Oriche was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Cieneguita's zone, Abel Oriche stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Roberto Trotta came out of the goal and Abel Oriche tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Hermengildo Iturri stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 51 minutes into the game, Abel Oriche cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Roberto Trotta was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 55 minutes into the game, LaGoma FC's Isidoro James nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Roberto Trotta made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-0. Roberto Trotta showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Filomeno Pes, who was totally free with the ball in the 61st minute. Hermengildo Iturri could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 67th minute of the match, but Arnoldo Dantae made a huge save. If Filomeno Pes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Jorge Comas fell near the penalty area in the 79th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Cieneguita's protests and gave Jorge Comas a yellow card for diving instead. After 79 played minutes Cieneguita got a freekick which was hit by Jorge Comas. LaGoma FC were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Cieneguita for a fine match.
