If Guido Diagur had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thanks to some nice moves Rigoberto Ortle could shoot a difficult shot in the 28th minute, which Celedonio Loren however easily saved by the left post. Medellín FC's Celedonio Loren proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 40th minute of the match, managed to save Medellín FC from getting a goal against them. 46 minutes into the match, Medellín FC's goalkeeper Celedonio Loren had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Rigoberto Ortle. Af the end of the first half the score was 4-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Stephan Fauendal to make the kick off. The audience thought a goal was coming when Angel Ordono got free with Guido Matei in the 54th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 57th minute Urbano Eli shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Celedonio Loren saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 60th minute, Stephan Fauendal hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 63rd minute, Stephan Fauendal ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Celedonio Loren was frozen by the shot and now it was 5-0. 68 minutes into the match, Medellín FC's goal looked a bit too open when Rigoberto Ortle came free, but Celedonio Loren reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Denis Etxatxu was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 93rd played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal.
