Cecilio Kiliz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tiburcio Hondo having to interfere. The supporters of Velez Sarsfield booed when Piñero was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alonzo Lidon didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cecilio Kiliz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tiburcio Hondo having to interfere. Jacobo Maiorga sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Tiburcio Hondo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cecilio Kiliz, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. If Isaias Prejun had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The attack was good, but when Cecilio Kiliz in the 28th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. Isaias Prejun received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Tiburcio Hondo came out and tried to block the shot, but Isaias Prejun slotted it home off the left post making it 2-0 in the 30th minute. Cecilio Kiliz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tiburcio Hondo having to interfere. Alonzo Lidon kicked well hit freekick during the 36th minute of the match. Cecilio Kiliz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tiburcio Hondo having to interfere. After having played for 43 minutes, Higinio Romelio managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Velez Sarsfield's supporters crossed their fingers, but Higinio Romelio was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Maximo Martxelin hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-0 at half-time.

52 minutes into the match, Piñero's goal looked a bit too open when Cecilio Kiliz came free, but Tiburcio Hondo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 53 minutes had been played when some careless play by Piñero's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Cecilio Kiliz was slow to take the kick. During this time Velez Sarsfield's players had a chance to rest. Ermegildo Leoncio was a little too slow when Honorio Savion got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 57th minute. The score was now 4-1. Lucas Cebo shot from long distance in the 60th minute, but Ermegildo Leoncio was prepared and stopped the ball at the left post. After 72 minutes of play, Velez Sarsfield's Isaias Prejun made it 6-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Tiburcio Hondo was left in no man's land by his defense there! Aydemir Ahmetoğlu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Tiburcio Hondo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cecilio Kiliz in the 78th minute of the match. After 79 minutes of play Piñero's Alonzo Lidon was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. After 79 played minutes Piñero got a freekick which was hit by Alonzo Lidon. A collision led to Velez Sarsfield getting a freekick after 83 minutes play. Cecilio Kiliz hit a great ball. Jesus Toribio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. Tiburcio Hondo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Tiburcio Hondo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cecilio Kiliz, who was totally free with the ball in the 88th minute. Tiburcio Hondo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cecilio Kiliz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a defensive mix-up in Piñero's zone, Isaias Prejun stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tiburcio Hondo came out of the goal and Isaias Prejun tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 97 minutes into the match, Cecilio Kiliz had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Tiburcio Hondo. Piñero's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Cecilio Kiliz was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 8-1. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Velez Sarsfield fully deserved thier win.
