Şofiq Araya was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 11th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Everardo Munio. Mostaza Dios's Faustino Criston played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leon Bernebe in the 38th minute of play. In the 40th minute, Leon Bernebe got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Mostaza Dios's Leandro Elequemedo got a good chance for a goal in the 44th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After the first half Rosario Central were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Edelmiro Todor made a kick off. Domingo Berto's late challenge caught a Rosario Central's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Domingo Berto helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Rosario Central booed when Mostaza Dios was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 65 match minutes in a wonderful position. Domingo Berto didn't get a good kick on the ball. Mostaza Dios's Faustino Criston played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leon Bernebe in the 66th minute of play. If Jeronimo Odon had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
