The audience was convinced that Saverio Gitano's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Santo Herensuge was relentless in the 12th minute of the game. After a defensive mix-up in Ampolla's zone, Pedro Augusto Teixeira stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Saverio Gitano stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. If Ignacio Corderun had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 54th minute, Evaristo Merexildo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ignacio Corderun fired away a difficult shot at goal in the 56th minute. He almost succeeded, but the ball bounced in the crossbar and then went out. It was a very nice shot. Aplastamenzos's Rigoberto Bazkoare was substituted for Benoit Devanne. 58 minutes into the game, Urbano Precioso threw the ball into play from the sideline. Aplastamenzos's Cristo Urdin quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. The referee felt a red card was in order, 64 minutes into the game, when Evaristo Merexildo put in a rough tackle. Santo Herensuge had in the 65thth minute some difficulties stopping Ignacio Corderun's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Braulio Hitz prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Aplastamenzos's Braulio Hitz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Urbano Precioso in the 94th minute of play. In the 96th match minute, Aplastamenzos was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vicente Estevon to maneuver through the defense. Joaquin Jakue struck a weak shot in the 97th minute. Braulio Hitz didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ampolla. The Aplastamenzos manager could be seen shouting at his players as they walked down the tunnel after the match. He was clearly angry that they had squandered their superior possession, allowing Ampolla to win.
