In the 24th minute, David Franco got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. huracan's Lisandro Eliazar got a good chance for a goal in the 27th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. With 33 minutes on the clock, Mauro Ticho commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. Stefan Dylla, 35 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. In the 38th minute, Clemente Marquez hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

But to his dismay, Gheorghe Boc quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-3. The Balcarce FC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Balcarce FC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
