After 4 played minutes Varela got a freekick which was hit by Jaime Xabel. Junior Rival showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Maule Morado in the 7th minute of the match. After 9 minutes, Enrique Huwyler mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Varela and the Palermo FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. 12 minutes into the match, Varela's goal looked a bit too open when Tan Soysaldı came free, but Isaias Jacindo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gregorio Bixintxo in the 14th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Junior Rival saved Palermo FC from getting behind. 15 minutes into the game, Amado Ponciano recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Isaias Jacindo. Amado Ponciano showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. In the 22nd minute, Tan Soysaldı ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Isaias Jacindo was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. If Cristo Ado had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Varela's Gregorio Bixintxo in the 27th minute got a chance for a shot 27th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Palermo FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Gregorio Bixintxo was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-1. Palermo FC's Junior Rival played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Enrique Huwyler in the 44th minute of play. In the 46th minute, Gregorio Bixintxo ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Junior Rival was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-2.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Maule Morado to strike the kick off in the second half. After some careless play in the Varela defense, Tan Soysaldı kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Isaias Jacindo. The Varela fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Isaias Jacindo should have stopped the shot. Junior Rival showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gregorio Bixintxo, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. When Timoteo Leguizamón fell near the penalty area in the 63rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Palermo FC's protests and gave Timoteo Leguizamón a yellow card for diving instead. In a very dangerous position, a player in Palermo FC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 63rd minute. Penalty! Palermo FC:s Junior Rival showed great skill when he stopped Elia Conti:s penalty. The excitement rose when Varela's Elia Conti after 65 played minutes turned away three defenders near the goal, and after that shot a ball that was too difficult for Palermo FC's goalkeeper to hold. Score! 5-3. An unexpectedly hard shot by Moisés Paraense in the 72nd minute of play forced Varela's goalkeeper Isaias Jacindo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
