When Ovidio Rencio came up free with the goalie in the 5th minute, the Boca jrs fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ovidio Rencio couldn't finish the play. Ciriaco Ereinotz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Reinhardt Jangel in the 7th minute of play. In the 7th minute, Froilan Oriche hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Anchorena's zone, Ovidio Rencio stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ciriaco Ereinotz came out of the goal and Ovidio Rencio tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Anchorena's Ciriaco Ereinotz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Reinhardt Jangel in the 18th minute of play. In the 26th minute Ovidio Rencio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ciriaco Ereinotz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Reinhardt Jangel might have been able to make a better finish in the 28th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ciriaco Ereinotz. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Reinhardt Jangel ran back to his position shaking his head. Reinhardt Jangel took the ball and in the 30 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ciriaco Ereinotz. Ciriaco Ereinotz dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. After a defensive mix-up in Anchorena's zone, Ovidio Rencio stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ciriaco Ereinotz came out of the goal and Ovidio Rencio tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 39th minute, Froilan Oriche hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Modesto Benvide's late challenge caught a Boca jrs's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Modesto Benvide helped the player get up and apologised. In the 44th match minute, Anchorena was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Anier Peru to maneuver through the defense. The Anchorena players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Boca jrs were winning 0-1.

After some fancy dribbling in the 52nd minute, Ovidio Rencio managed to get in a good position for a shot. Boca jrs's supporters rose to their feet, but Ovidio Rencio was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ciriaco Ereinotz breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 62nd minute of the match Boca jrs got a corner. Anchorena's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Rene Dominguez ran over to the corner to take the kick. Dillon Waters was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. In the 64th minute, Anchorena's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Ovidio Rencio fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. When Ildefonso Jacob fell near the penalty area in the 65th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Anchorena's protests and gave Ildefonso Jacob a yellow card for diving instead. In the 65th match minute, Anchorena was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ildefonso Jacob to maneuver through the defense. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ovidio Rencio got free with Ciriaco Ereinotz in the 68th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort.
