The supporters of C.SyD Buenos Aires booed when Atlas was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Agustin Aznar didn't get a good kick on the ball. Vladimiro Cortez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Paulo Acosta, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Vladimiro Cortez prevented the ball from getting in the gole. A collision led to C.SyD Buenos Aires getting a freekick after 28 minutes play. Tomas Dugan hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, Atlas's Akay Çetinalp got a free kick in the 29th minute. Through an outstanding action, after 31 minutes, Vladimiro Cortez successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Mauricio Frantzes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 38th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Atlas's Vladimiro Cortez proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 40th minute of the match, managed to save Atlas from getting a goal against them. 44 minutes into the match, C.SyD Buenos Aires's Silvestre Oidor sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Vladimiro Cortez narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 47 minutes into the game, one of Atlas:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Mauricio Frantzes was the one to do the kick off. Jonatan Mendez kicked well hit freekick during the 53rd minute of the match. Apolo Curcio struck a weak shot in the 55th minute. Vladimiro Cortez didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for C.SyD Buenos Aires. Vladimiro Cortez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Apolo Curcio in the 58th minute of the match. Vladimiro Cortez didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Apolo Curcio went, in the 60th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-0 was the resulting score. After a defensive mix-up in Atlas's zone, Silvestre Oidor stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Vladimiro Cortez came out of the goal and Silvestre Oidor tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 78th minute, Sixto Garikoitz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Silvestre Oidor scored 5-0 in the 80th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Vladimiro Cortez, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 85 minutes into the match, Atlas's goal looked a bit too open when Paulo Acosta came free, but Vladimiro Cortez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 87th minute, Apolo Curcio made a precise shot to the right of Vladimiro Cortez. Atlas's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 6-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Apolo Curcio in the 92nd minute of play forced Atlas's goalkeeper Vladimiro Cortez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Apolo Curcio in the 94th minute a chance for a shot on goal. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
