Spectators: 7009 (Terracing: 5288, Seating: 1621, VIP seats: 100) Francisco Fanuco started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. Leandro Medardo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Fabien Barthez read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 6th minute of play. Francisco Fanuco received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 8th minute. Fabien Barthez tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 14 minutes into the match, Lázaro Artaldo notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Paltoroa AFC's Julio Corderun. Julio Corderun was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Julio Corderun took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Severo Otsoa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Juan-Francisco Sainz recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 20th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 21 minutes into the game, Placido Tonio was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Paltoroa AFC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Independencia the free kick. In the 21st minute, Placido Tonio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 26 minutes, Lázaro Artaldo made it 0-2 with a short kick to the right side. Paltoroa AFC's Julio Corderun tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 28th minute, Lázaro Artaldo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 32nd match minute, Independencia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Domingos Carlomagno to maneuver through the defense. Juan-Francisco Sainz recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 34th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Julio Corderun took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lázaro Artaldo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 41st minute, Lázaro Artaldo left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Independencia fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-3. In the 46thth minute of the game Lázaro Artaldo who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Paltoroa AFC's Julio Corderun was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The audience thought a goal was coming when Alejo Blai got free with Julio Corderun in the 54th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. With his leg Julio Corderun managed to avoid a goal in the 56thth minute, when Independencia's Lázaro Artaldo fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Independencia's Nacho Scocco was substituted for Severo Otsoa. In the 58th match minute, Independencia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Juan-Francisco Sainz to maneuver through the defense. Julio Corderun showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nacho Scocco, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute. Juan-Francisco Sainz could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 65th minute of the match, but Julio Corderun made a huge save. Paltoroa AFC's Julio Corderun proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 66th minute of the match, managed to save Paltoroa AFC from getting a goal against them. Independencia were awarded a corner in the 69th minute after Paltoroa AFC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Juan-Francisco Sainz took the corner. A nice corner shot did that Juan-Francisco Sainz got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Julio Corderun quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. In the 72nd minute Lázaro Artaldo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Corderun saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Domingos Carlomagno had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 85 played minutes Paltoroa AFC got a freekick which was hit by Abel Leoiar. Lázaro Artaldo's late challenge caught a Paltoroa AFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Lázaro Artaldo helped the player get up and apologised. In the 86th match minute, Independencia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lázaro Artaldo to maneuver through the defense. Juan-Francisco Sainz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After 91 minutes of play, Independencia's Nacho Scocco made it 0-5 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Julio Corderun was left in no man's land by his defense there! If Lázaro Artaldo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Paltoroa AFC's Julio Corderun proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 96th minute of the match, managed to save Paltoroa AFC from getting a goal against them.
