The Benavides fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. 18 minutes into the match, Bustamante FC's goalkeeper Ambrosio Fernandes had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Alejo Felipo. If Dionisio Silvanito had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Abelardo Matia hit a great freekick 21 minutes into the match. With his leg Ambrosio Fernandes managed to avoid a goal in the 22ndth minute, when Benavides's Alejo Felipo fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. After a rather tough play, Bustamante FC's Fidel Argi got a free kick in the 25th minute. After having played for 26 minutes, Victorio Pancho managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Benavides's supporters crossed their fingers, but Victorio Pancho was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 28 minutes into the game, Camilo Sasoin was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Bustamante FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Benavides the free kick. When Benavides's Dionisio Silvanito, in the 42nd minute, received a pass right in front of the net, it looked like a certain goal, but his shot went outside. A wasted opportunity for Benavides. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Dionisio Silvanito was the one to do the kick off. In the 52ndth minute of the game Alejo Felipo who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Bustamante FC's Ambrosio Fernandes was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Bustamante FC's Arnoldo Ondino got a good chance for a goal in the 53rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 55 minutes into the match, Benavides's goal looked a bit too open when Nicolas Loi came free, but Victorino Bordat reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alejo Felipo in the 58th minute of play forced Bustamante FC's goalkeeper Ambrosio Fernandes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Benavides booed when Bustamante FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 65 match minutes in a wonderful position. Arnoldo Ondino didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ambrosio Fernandes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alejo Felipo in the 66th minute of the match. If Arnoldo Ondino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. A collision led to Benavides getting a freekick after 76 minutes play. Nicanor Claude hit a great ball. Ambrosio Fernandes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dionisio Silvanito in the 79th minute of play. Ambrosio Fernandes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dionisio Silvanito, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Fidel Argi fell near the penalty area in the 85th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Bustamante FC's protests and gave Fidel Argi a yellow card for diving instead. After 88 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Bustamante FC! Ambrosio Fernandes had in the 91stth minute some difficulties stopping Victorio Pancho's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. Arnoldo Ondino struck a weak shot in the 93rd minute. Victorino Bordat didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Bustamante FC. Ambrosio Fernandes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dionisio Silvanito, who was totally free with the ball in the 94th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Arnoldo Ondino got free with Victorino Bordat in the 96th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Abelardo Matia's late challenge caught a Benavides's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Abelardo Matia helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Benavides booed when Bustamante FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 98 match minutes in a wonderful position. Abelardo Matia didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Alejo Felipo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 100th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Benavides's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
