Spectators: 6645 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1645, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Ramon Tadzio got the match started through his kick off. Ramon Tadzio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vinicio Furman having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ramon Tadzio in the 12th minute of play forced Suruipiana's goalkeeper Vinicio Furman to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ramon Tadzio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 13th minute. Vinicio Furman tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Artemio Fraco made a fantastic save in the 15th minute, when Claes Bochneck sent off a good shot on target. Ramon Tadzio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 19th minute Paolo Neron shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vinicio Furman saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 21 minutes, Ramon Tadzio managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Caleufú's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ramon Tadzio was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Paolo Neron came up free with the goalie in the 25th minute, the Caleufú fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Paolo Neron couldn't finish the play. Gogo Mendebal hit a great freekick 26 minutes into the match. Artemio Fraco acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 28th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Venancio Maore. Caleufú's defense didn't have a chance, in the 35th minute, when Rubil Ravinovic scored to the left of an out of position Artemio Fraco, making the score, 1-0. After a rather tough play, Suruipiana's Bernardo Lobo got a free kick in the 38th minute. Caleufú's Ramon Tadzio got a good chance for a goal in the 40th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 43rd match minute, Caleufú was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ramon Tadzio to maneuver through the defense. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Claes Bochneck stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Artemio Fraco showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rubil Ravinovic in the 52nd minute of the match. In the 58th minute, Ramon Tadzio got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After having played for 62 minutes, Paolo Neron managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Caleufú's supporters crossed their fingers, but Paolo Neron was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 90 minutes into the match, Caleufú's goal looked a bit too open when Claes Bochneck came free, but Artemio Fraco reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Caleufú's Artemio Fraco played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rubil Ravinovic in the 91st minute of play. Artemio Fraco took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rubil Ravinovic, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The Suruipiana players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
