In the 17thth minute of the game Walther Gyllembourg who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Centeno's Teo Abeitia was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Through an outstanding action, after 19 minutes, Mario Chesus successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Teo Abeitia didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Walther Gyllembourg went, in the 20th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. Eusebio Geofredo might have been able to make a better finish in the 26th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Teo Abeitia. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Eusebio Geofredo ran back to his position shaking his head. 28 minutes into the match, River Plate's goal looked a bit too open when Jonathan Tercero came free, but Mario Chesus reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jacinto Costante scored 0-3 in the 30th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Teo Abeitia, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 34 minutes into the game, Ulises Cordeal was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Teo Abeitia was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it.

The wind increased when Jonathan Tercero made the kick off in the second half.
