In the 18th minute, Dante Unai got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Cornelio Bingen showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. 22 minutes into the match, Obdulio y diez más's goal looked a bit too open when German Urbasa came free, but Julio Ostargi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Cornelio Bingen didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Marcelino Cordaro went, in the 25th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. Marcelino Cordaro could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 28th minute of the match, but Cornelio Bingen made a huge save. Esteban Cario hit a great freekick 39 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Virgilio Tiniebra in the 43rd minute of play forced Independiente's goalkeeper Cornelio Bingen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Dante Unai had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Obdulio y diez más's zone, German Urbasa stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Julio Ostargi came out of the goal and German Urbasa tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

After having played for 55 minutes, German Urbasa managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Independiente's supporters crossed their fingers, but German Urbasa was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. German Urbasa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. Julio Ostargi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Obdulio y diez más's zone, Dante Unai stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Julio Ostargi came out of the goal and Dante Unai tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Cornelio Bingen made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marcelino Cordaro in the 67th minute of play. A collision led to Obdulio y diez más getting a freekick after 71 minutes play. Esteban Cario hit a great ball. Jorge Videl's late challenge caught a Independiente's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jorge Videl helped the player get up and apologised. In the 73rd minute, Jorge Videl hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 75 minutes, German Urbasa managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal.
