Venancio Gomesano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Raimundo Galoer having to interfere. When Adan Macias fell near the penalty area in the 29th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Eldía's protests and gave Adan Macias a yellow card for diving instead. Lahorareferi's Justino Ramos got a good chance for a goal in the 52nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Venancio Gomesano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Albino Oihan recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 92nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Mariano Rocendo blasted a shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Gaudencio Crescencio having to make a save. The Eldía supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Eldía would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
