One of Puan AFC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of River:s goal. A hard shot 36 in the game by Isaac Delfino from a close distance when the talented Eulalio Todor managed to make a qualified save. Puan AFC's players were relieved. Horaţiu Ibrișin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Severo Argi having to interfere. Dario Hevia came free with the goalkeeper in the 46th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Eulalio Todor could save by the left post. After the first half Puan AFC were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Isaac Delfino made a kick off. River's Severo Argi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Horaţiu Ibrișin in the 52nd minute of play. The supporters of River booed when Puan AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nicasio Gau didn't get a good kick on the ball. Through an outstanding action, after 61 minutes, Severo Argi successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. If Horaţiu Ibrișin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Puan AFC made a substitution. Luisito Sugoi replaced Edelmiro Garin. Puan AFC's Isidro Macerio was substituted for Horaţiu Ibrișin. If Isidro Macerio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute.
