Agustin Celino struck a weak shot in the 42nd minute. Victoriano Eufemio didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Club Atlético Platenses. Clemente Soter showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Federico Ciceron in the 46th minute of the match. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Federico Ciceron was the one to do the kick off. If Agustin Celino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 58 played minutes Club Atlético Platenses got a freekick which was hit by Clodoveo Calixto. Victoriano Eufemio showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zdzislaw Pinczewski, who was totally free with the ball in the 61st minute. The supporters of Gamay booed when Club Atlético Platenses was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 63 match minutes in a wonderful position. Everardo Quilo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Guaberto Salomon shot from long distance in the 64th minute, but Clemente Soter was prepared and stopped the ball at the left post. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Victoriano Eufemio showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After 83 played minutes Club Atlético Platenses got a freekick which was hit by Lorenzo Muniz. When Federico Ciceron came up free with the goalie in the 84th minute, the Gamay fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Federico Ciceron couldn't finish the play. Victoriano Eufemio showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zdzislaw Pinczewski, who was totally free with the ball in the 88th minute. In the 91st minute, Federico Ciceron reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Clemente Soter. The goal made the score 2-1. Many of Gamay's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Gamay may have spent more time on the ball, but Club Atlético Platenses were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
