Vinicio Berbiz in the 37thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. In the 61st minute, Ulises Corderall got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Fernan Terciero fell near the penalty area in the 67th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Gimnasia's protests and gave Fernan Terciero a yellow card for diving instead. In the 67th minute, Fernan Terciero hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some careless play in the Gimnasia defense, Fermin Millrick kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jesus Enmanuel. The Gimnasia fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jesus Enmanuel should have stopped the shot. Gimnasia's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Ciro Etxatxus short, quick shot in the 78thth minute got Jeronimo Quintana to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Fernan Terciero might have been able to make a better finish in the 81st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jeronimo Quintana. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Fernan Terciero ran back to his position shaking his head. Caucete FC's Rogelio Breogan got his second yellow card of the match in the 82nd minute. The referee ordered Rogelio Breogan off the ground. A collision led to Caucete FC getting a freekick after 83 minutes play. Rogelio Breogan hit a great ball. If Vinicio Berbiz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute.
