After 15 played minutes FLUMINENSE got a freekick which was hit by Ciro Idacio. 17 minutes in the game Mauricio Diagur after having made a beautiful turn got a great opportunity to score and fired away a shot that went just to the left past a relieved Carlos Beturian. A very good opportunity. Cleto Oto succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 2-0 in the 19th playminute. Carlos Beturian showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Joaquin Iaki in the 22nd minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Joaquin Iaki in the 23rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Carlos Beturian saved FLUMINENSE from getting behind. Carlos Beturian made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cleto Oto in the 25th minute of play. After 28 minutes of play, FLUMINENSE's Lisandro Urbasa made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Severino Laurendi was left in no man's land by his defense there! 3-1 became the score in the 35th minute when Cleto Oto elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. After 40 minutes of play FLUMINENSE's Ruben Harriet was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. A collision led to FLUMINENSE getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. Ruben Harriet hit a great ball. Af the end of the first half the score was 4-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Cleto Oto to strike the kick off in the second half. Carlos Beturian stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Joaquin Iaki's shot from short distance in the 53rd minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jairo Bidari during the 56th minute.
