After a defensive mix-up in Hannover 1985's zone, Abelardo Pirro stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rogelio Idacio came out of the goal and Abelardo Pirro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When the match had gone on for 6 minutes, Atilano Gombal put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Rogelio Idacio. When the match clock showed 12 minutes, the score became 0-2 when Atilano Gombal sped through Hannover 1985's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Rogelio Idacio. 15 minutes into the match, Hannover 1985's goal looked a bit too open when Atilano Gombal came free, but Rogelio Idacio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Abelardo Pirro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 24th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 26 minutes into the match, Hannover 1985's Atilano Ekhi sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Hilario Sansone narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Rogelio Idacio stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Atilano Gombal's shot from short distance in the 28th minute. Hannover 1985's Rogelio Idacio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Atilano Gombal in the 32nd minute of play. When Centenario's Atilano Gombal in the 33rd minute got a chance for a shot 33rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Hannover 1985's goalie prevented a goal. 35 minutes into the match, Atilano Gombal had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Rogelio Idacio. Hannover 1985's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Atilano Gombal was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. If Atilano Gombal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the match had gone on for 40 minutes, Atilano Gombal put it in 0-4 from a short distance just to the right of Rogelio Idacio. Ola Pihl received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Rogelio Idacio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After the first half Centenario were leading 0-4. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Atilano Ekhi was the one to do the kick off. Atilano Gombal's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 51stth minute, Rogelio Idacio skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Atilano Ekhi's late challenge caught a Centenario's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Atilano Ekhi helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Hannover 1985 getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. Atilano Ekhi hit a great ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Atilano Gombal in the 59th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Rogelio Idacio prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 61 minutes into the match, Hannover 1985's goal looked a bit too open when Atilano Gombal came free, but Rogelio Idacio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Centenario's Atilano Gombal got a good chance for a goal in the 62nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Atilano Gombal fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rogelio Idacio having to interfere. Pablo Romero charged in rather forcefully in the 67th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Pablo Romero the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 68th match minute, Hannover 1985 was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Saverio Cerilo to maneuver through the defense. In the 75th minute, Hannover 1985's Segundo Gil seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Segundo Gil the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Hannover 1985 protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Segundo Gil had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 74th minute of the game. One of Hannover 1985:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Centenario:s goal. 0-5 came through a penalty shot after 76 played minutes, when Centenario:s Hugo Sein calmly waited for Hannover 1985:s goalkeeper to move before he rolled in the ball by the right post. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Atilano Gombal in the 85th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Rogelio Idacio prevented the ball from getting in the gole. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Atilano Gombal in the 88th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Rogelio Idacio saved Hannover 1985 from getting behind. Abelardo Pirro might have been able to make a better finish in the 89th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Rogelio Idacio. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Abelardo Pirro ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 91st match minute, Hannover 1985 was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Saverio Cerilo to maneuver through the defense. Centenario's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
