Clodoveo Lordi didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Santo Gaskon went, in the 16th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. If Segundo Ubarna had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpected shot in the 31st minute by Segundo Ubarna got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. In the 41st minute the ball was on its way in behind Ichipuca Futbol Club's goalkeeper Severo Guifre, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Santo Gaskon in the 44th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Clodoveo Lordi saved Douglas Haig from getting behind. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Segundo Ubarna to make the kick off.
