Eriberto Barbosa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Julio Ovando in the 14th minute of the match. Clemente Dolfo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristian Nalo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Clemente Dolfo didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Cristian Nalo went, in the 25th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. With a little luck, FC Barrio United's Eriberto Barbosa got control of the ball when Nicolas Etxahun tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 30th minute, San Marino's Julio Ovando ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Eriberto Barbosa. In the 45th minute, Prospero Dodorol got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Disappointed in the 1-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Julio Ovando to make the kick off. If Severino Marquez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. FC Barrio United's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
