Spectators: 7132 (Terracing: 5350, Seating: 1641, VIP seats: 141) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Bernabe Ramond started the match with the kick off. After 2 played minutes josty got a freekick which was hit by Elias Misael. In the 4th minute, Simon Ihazintu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. josty's Alejo Alvarez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Saverio Llorienzo in the 7th minute of play. In the 8th match minute, josty was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ciriaco Chepe to maneuver through the defense. When Simon Ihazintu fell near the penalty area in the 11th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored josty's protests and gave Simon Ihazintu a yellow card for diving instead. Simon Ihazintu kicked well hit freekick during the 11th minute of the match. Alejo Alvarez made a fantastic save in the 13th minute, when Adolfo Dabi sent off a good shot on target. After a defensive mix-up in josty's zone, Adolfo Dabi stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Alejo Alvarez came out of the goal and Adolfo Dabi tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Bernabe Ramond fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eliseo Gorbea having to interfere. Hermengildo Cayo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Eliseo Gorbea read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 20th minute of play. 22 minutes into the match, josty's goalkeeper Alejo Alvarez had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Adolfo Dabi. Hermengildo Cayo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. Eliseo Gorbea tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Honorato Tipi kicked well hit freekick during the 25th minute of the match. In the 27th match minute, Velez Sarsfield was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Saul Gartzen to maneuver through the defense. 37 minutes into the match, Hermengildo Cayo had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Eliseo Gorbea. Velez Sarsfield's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Hermengildo Cayo was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. Hermengildo Cayo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eliseo Gorbea having to interfere. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

When the match had gone on for 52 minutes, Hermengildo Cayo took a quick shot and it went in 1-2 without a chance for Eliseo Gorbea to make any attempt to save it. After 58 played minutes Velez Sarsfield got a freekick which was hit by Gavino Lehoi. Hermengildo Cayo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. Eliseo Gorbea tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpected shot in the 62nd minute by Hermengildo Cayo got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Cayetano Remigio kicked well hit freekick during the 63rd minute of the match. Adolfo Dabi's late challenge caught a josty's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Adolfo Dabi helped the player get up and apologised. josty's Hermengildo Cayo got a good chance for a goal in the 67th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 69th minute the ball was on its way in behind Velez Sarsfield's goalkeeper Eliseo Gorbea, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bernabe Ramond in the 72nd minute of play forced Velez Sarsfield's goalkeeper Eliseo Gorbea to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Laureano Sesuldo might have been able to make a better finish in the 74th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Eliseo Gorbea. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Laureano Sesuldo ran back to his position shaking his head. When Severiano Azubeli came up free with the goalie in the 77th minute, the josty fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Severiano Azubeli couldn't finish the play. Adolfo Dabi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Hermengildo Cayo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 89th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Laureano Sesuldo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eliseo Gorbea having to interfere. Eliseo Gorbea took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Laureano Sesuldo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
