Cícero Abreu was shown his second yellow card after 17 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. In the 17th match minute, Ombucta was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cícero Abreu to maneuver through the defense. Lázaro Gimenez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Domingo Joachim in the 21st minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Mariano Mederi got free with Lázaro Gimenez in the 23rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Ombucta's Lázaro Gimenez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Augusto Vela in the 28th minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet as Los Borrachos Del Tablon's Domingo Joachim slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Lázaro Gimenez. That made the score 1-0 after 30 minutes of play. 37 minutes into the game, Augusto Vela cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Lázaro Gimenez was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 41st minute, Augusto Vela hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Augusto Vela was the one to do the kick off. Augusto Vela received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Lázaro Gimenez tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some careless play in the Ombucta defense, Augusto Vela kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Lázaro Gimenez. The Ombucta fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Lázaro Gimenez should have stopped the shot. In the 59th minute, Arturo Loren hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 61 minutes, Tiburcio Espiridion managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ombucta's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tiburcio Espiridion was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Lázaro Gimenez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mariano Mederi, who was totally free with the ball in the 64th minute. Lázaro Gimenez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mariano Mederi in the 65th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Arturo Loren during the 66th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kaj Stabbe in the 92nd minute of play forced Ombucta's goalkeeper Lázaro Gimenez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart.
