In the 28th minute, Severino Rutenio left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The River plate fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. Foro Decano FC's Ernesto Pinto proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 33rd minute of the match, managed to save Foro Decano FC from getting a goal against them. Remigio Cayo stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Fidel Iaki's shot from short distance in the 36th minute. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ramon Shantala to make the kick off. Carlos Bixintxo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Fidel Iakis short, quick shot in the 58thth minute got Remigio Cayo to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Ernesto Pinto took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Aurelio Bordat, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 64th minute, Juan Cibran made a precise shot to the right of Ernesto Pinto. Foro Decano FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. Carlos Bixintxo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of River plate booed when Foro Decano FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 73 match minutes in a wonderful position. River plate's Ramon Shantala got a good chance for a goal in the 93rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ramon Shantala in the 96th minute of play forced Foro Decano FC's goalkeeper Ernesto Pinto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
