Placido Hegoi made a fantastic save in the 30th minute, when Pablo Lazcano sent off a good shot on target. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
The wind increased when Arturo Aurken made the kick off in the second half. When Gerardo Chago fell near the penalty area in the 52nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Stenhousemuir F.C's protests and gave Gerardo Chago a yellow card for diving instead. 61 minutes had been played when some careless play by Stenhousemuir F.C's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Maximiliano Haritzeder was slow to take the kick. During this time Malvinas's players had a chance to rest. A nice corner shot did that Maximiliano Haritzeder got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Placido Hegoi quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. After 62 played minutes Stenhousemuir F.C got a freekick which was hit by Ermegildo Paz. 65 minutes into the match, Stenhousemuir F.C's goal looked a bit too open when Arturo Aurken came free, but Placido Hegoi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ermegildo Rami received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. Placido Hegoi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ermegildo Rami struck a weak shot in the 71st minute. Placido Hegoi didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Malvinas. Placido Hegoi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Arturo Aurken, who was totally free with the ball in the 72nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 82 minutes into the game, Ermegildo Rami was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player.
