Eloy Bernad was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Fabio Jatsu showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 3-1 in the 31 minute of play. Gilbert FC's Edgard Egun got a good chance for a goal in the 35th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 37th minute, Nicolas Calvino fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Eloy Bernad, passed just outside the right post. Epifanio Felo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Eloy Bernad showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nicolas Calvino, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute. Eloy Bernad made an important save on a dangerous shot by Alfredo Castel in the 46th minute. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Nicolas Calvino to make the kick off.
