In the 11th minute Celedonio Dolfo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Humberto Olando saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Celedonio Dolfo in the 12th minute of play forced Castaño's goalkeeper Humberto Olando to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 15th minute, one of Castaño:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Castaño. In the 16th minute there was a penalty for Club Atletico Guernica. Matias Quirce stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Humberto Olando. 1-0. With a little luck, Castaño's Humberto Olando got control of the ball when Blas Rosalio tried to sneak it across the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Severo Lartaun in the 24th minute of play forced Club Atletico Guernica's goalkeeper Segundo Leizarraga to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some careless play in the Club Atletico Guernica defense, Severo Lartaun kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Segundo Leizarraga. The Club Atletico Guernica fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Segundo Leizarraga should have stopped the shot. Humberto Olando made a fantastic save in the 29th minute, when Blas Rosalio sent off a good shot on target. Ernesto Gerazan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Segundo Leizarraga tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Blas Rosalio struck a weak shot in the 41st minute. Humberto Olando didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Club Atletico Guernica. Humberto Olando made an important save on a dangerous shot by Blas Rosalio in the 44th minute. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

After a rather tough play, Club Atletico Guernica's Sixto Sansone got a free kick in the 64th minute. 74 minutes into the match, Castaño's goal looked a bit too open when Celedonio Dolfo came free, but Humberto Olando reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 75 minutes into the game, Club Atletico Guernica's Celedonio Dolfo nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Humberto Olando made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-1. The supporters of Castaño booed when Club Atletico Guernica was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 82 match minutes in a wonderful position. Roman Baristo didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 88th minute the ball was on its way in behind Castaño's goalkeeper Humberto Olando, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 89 minutes into the game, Celedonio Dolfo cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-1. Humberto Olando was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Celedonio Dolfo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Humberto Olando tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Club Atletico Guernica's Blas Rosalio got a good chance for a goal in the 96th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Castaño's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
