Spectators: 7101 (Terracing: 5327, Seating: 1633, VIP seats: 141) Feliberto Salbatore made the kick off and thus started the match. In the 2nd minute, Feliberto Salbatore hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpected shot in the 5th minute by Wilfredo Urtsua got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. If Feliberto Salbatore had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 7th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 10th minute Imperial Eagle FC were awarded a corner. Efrain Feliz went to the cornerflag to take it. After some fancy dribbling in the 12th minute, Feliberto Salbatore managed to get in a good position for a shot. Imperial Eagle FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Feliberto Salbatore was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Albano Lain breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 16th minute, Leonardo Reyes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 20 minutes into the match, Velez's goalkeeper Albano Lain had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ernesto Nardo. In the 22nd minute, Luis Berenguer left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Velez fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. In the 25th minute Luis Berenguer shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gustavo Cutberto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 29th minute, one of Imperial Eagle FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Imperial Eagle FC. Gustavo Cutberto showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Javier Luke, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. Luis Berenguer received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Gustavo Cutberto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 47th minute, Javier Luke ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Gustavo Cutberto was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-3. After the first half Velez were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Javier Luke made the kick off in the second half. If Luis Berenguer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Albano Lain showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Wilfredo Urtsua in the 58th minute of the match. Imperial Eagle FC's Wilfredo Urtsua got a good chance for a goal in the 60th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Wilfredo Urtsua fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Albano Lain having to interfere. In the 65th match minute, Velez was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ariel Izotz to maneuver through the defense. In the 72nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Velez's goalkeeper Albano Lain, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. When Pedro Pudes came up free with the goalie in the 73rd minute, the Imperial Eagle FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Pedro Pudes couldn't finish the play. 75 minutes into the match, Imperial Eagle FC's Wilfredo Urtsua sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Albano Lain narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Wilfredo Urtsua received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 78th minute. Albano Lain tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gustavo Cutberto made a fantastic save in the 83rd minute, when Javier Luke sent off a good shot on target. Imperial Eagle FC's Gustavo Cutberto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luis Berenguer in the 88th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Paulino Rutenio during the 89th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Velez booed when Imperial Eagle FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 89 match minutes in a wonderful position. Paulino Rutenio didn't get a good kick on the ball. Albano Lain came out of the goal in the 93rd minute to try and stop a shot by Imperial Eagle FC's Wilfredo Urtsua. But to his dismay, Wilfredo Urtsua quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-4.
