But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tomas Ermengol couldn't finish the play. Pedro Augusto Lira's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Isaias Gabirel read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 18th minute of play. The supporters of La Patada Cubana booed when Guaviraví AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vicente Maria didn't get a good kick on the ball. La Patada Cubana's Manuel Peruanton proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 26th minute of the match, managed to save La Patada Cubana from getting a goal against them. The attack was good, but when Douglas Moraes in the 28th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. 38 minutes into the match, La Patada Cubana's goalkeeper Manuel Peruanton had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Douglas Moraes. The Guaviraví AFC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1.
