But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Artemio Salvidor couldn't finish the play. In the 18th minute Roberto Astudillo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pastor Bernabel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Arcadia's Pastor Bernabel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Angel Kusko in the 27th minute of play. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Moores AFC. In the 43rd minute there was a penalty for Arcadia. Ezequiel Espiridion stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Silvestre Alvarez. 2-2. Ezequiel Espiridion walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Artemio Salvidor stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Roberto Astudillo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
