Virgilio Gabino hit a great freekick 8 minutes into the match. Les Blues 's Teobaldo Mambru couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 9th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Deportivo Cristal. With a little luck, Les Blues 's Alonzo Gaspard got control of the ball when Cristo Bermund tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Segundo Txaran had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Eliseo Dayam charged in rather forcefully in the 19th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Eliseo Dayam the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Cristo Bermund received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. Alonzo Gaspard tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Les Blues 's Pascual Chabier got a free kick in the 26th minute. Deportivo Cristal's Cristo Bermund managed to work through Les Blues 's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Cristo Bermund dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. Manuel Opilano recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 33rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 35th match minute, Les Blues was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eliseo Dayam to maneuver through the defense. Alonzo Gaspard showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Segundo Txaran, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. Cristo Bermund could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 37th minute of the match, but Alonzo Gaspard made a huge save. In the 39th minute of the match Deportivo Cristal got a corner. Les Blues 's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Marciano Cucao ran over to the corner to take the kick. Marciano Cucao made a great header on Deportivo Cristal's corner, it was just that Les Blues 's Alonzo Gaspard managed to reach the ball for a save. Deportivo Cristal's Cristobal Beltza played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Teobaldo Sotero in the 41st minute of play. Cristo Bermund could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 45th minute of the match, but Alonzo Gaspard made a huge save. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Segundo Txaran to strike the kick off in the second half. But to his dismay, Segundo Txaran quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. When Cristo Bermund came up free with the goalie in the 62nd minute, the Deportivo Cristal fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cristo Bermund couldn't finish the play. After some fancy dribbling in the 66th minute, Eliseo Dayam managed to get in a good position for a shot. Les Blues 's supporters rose to their feet, but Eliseo Dayam was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Cristo Bermund sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. For all the effort they put into the match, the Les Blues players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Deportivo Cristal.
