The referee ignored CA Boca juniors's protests and gave Denis Baristo a yellow card for diving instead. After 45 played minutes CA Boca juniors got a freekick which was hit by Denis Baristo. The throw-in from Teobaldo Rios in the 47th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by CA Boca juniors's Feliberto Thomas. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Leon Medina stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes into the match, Jimeno Vellito had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Teodosio Cordarrell. CA Boca juniors's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Jimeno Vellito was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-0. A collision led to Nación getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. Ambrosio Chale hit a great ball. Jairo Lohitzun might have been able to make a better finish in the 58th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Fermin Rio. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Jairo Lohitzun ran back to his position shaking his head. When Erubiel Jerano came up free with the goalie in the 62nd minute, the Nación fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Erubiel Jerano couldn't finish the play. In the 62nd minute, Erubiel Jerano had to be helped off the field due to a pulled leg muscle. CA Boca juniors's Denis Baristo got his second yellow card of the match in the 63rd minute. The referee ordered Denis Baristo off the ground. Nación's Santos Urti was substituted for Erubiel Jerano. In the 64th match minute, CA Boca juniors was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Denis Baristo to maneuver through the defense. In the 68th minute, Leon Medina left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Nación fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 5-0. Teodosio Cordarrell made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Leon Medina in the 71st minute of play. Teodosio Cordarrell showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jimeno Vellito, who was totally free with the ball in the 73rd minute. 81 minutes into the match, CA Boca juniors's goal looked a bit too open when Leon Medina came free, but Teodosio Cordarrell reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Nación's Jimeno Vellito got a good chance for a goal in the 82nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 86 minutes of play, Nación's Leon Medina made it 7-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Teodosio Cordarrell was left in no man's land by his defense there! Bartolo Gonsalve took the ball and in the 90 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Teodosio Cordarrell. Teodosio Cordarrell dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 8-0. Leon Medina received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 96th minute. Teodosio Cordarrell tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Nación's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
