With an all-out effort, Cañuelas's Pascual Mino threw himself towards the right post 40 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Prudencio Maule, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. 43 minutes into the game, Patricio Ihintza was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Cañuelas's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Club Atletico Talleres the free kick.
