The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Sportivo LyCans's Leandro Haimar played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Maximino Jerold in the 5th minute of play. Nairobi City AFC's Hilario Gumaro proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 9th minute of the match, managed to save Nairobi City AFC from getting a goal against them. Nairobi City AFC's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Eleuterio Cefero 10 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-0. Leandro Haimar showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Julian Evis, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. The audience was convinced that Eleuterio Cefero's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Hilario Gumaro was relentless in the 27th minute of the game. In the 28th minute Eleuterio Cefero shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hilario Gumaro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Santiago Franco fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hilario Gumaro having to interfere. Christian Victoro hit a great freekick 33 minutes into the match. If Eleuterio Cefero had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. Anselmo Cruz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hilario Gumaro having to interfere. Hilario Gumaro was annoyed at himself for letting in the shot. Eleuterio Cefero struck a weak shot in the 43rd minute. Hilario Gumaro didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sportivo LyCans. After 45 played minutes, Nairobi City AFC's Eulalio Koldobika shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Leandro Haimar came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Nairobi City AFC reached it. Nairobi City AFC's Hilario Gumaro proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 48th minute of the match, managed to save Nairobi City AFC from getting a goal against them. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

Hilario Gumaro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eleuterio Cefero in the 54th minute of play. In the 55th minute Eleuterio Cefero shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hilario Gumaro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Eleuterio Cefero came up free with the goalie in the 70th minute, the Sportivo LyCans fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Eleuterio Cefero couldn't finish the play. 72 minutes into the game, Julian Evis cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-1. Leandro Haimar was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Sportivo LyCans's Eleuterio Cefero got a good chance for a goal in the 77th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 78th minute, Eleuterio Cefero got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Clodoveo Irrintzi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sportivo LyCans's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
