The referee ignored East Tandil Union's protests and gave Hugo Regis a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to East Tandil Union getting a freekick after 2 minutes play. Hugo Regis hit a great ball. Alonzo Ihintza showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Santiago Quiroga in the 3rd minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Santiago Quiroga's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Alonzo Ihintza was relentless in the 3rd minute of the game. Bengt Norberg charged in rather forcefully in the 7th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Bengt Norberg the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Hugo Regis in the 8th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Norberto Gaitano prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Alonzo Ihintza showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Julio Ospin, who was totally free with the ball in the 10th minute. After having played for 12 minutes, Maximo Rayman managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Juárez's supporters crossed their fingers, but Maximo Rayman was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 15 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for East Tandil Union! Alonzo Ihintza had in the 17thth minute some difficulties stopping Maximo Rayman's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. After some careless play in the East Tandil Union defense, Santiago Quiroga kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Alonzo Ihintza. The East Tandil Union fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Alonzo Ihintza should have stopped the shot. East Tandil Union's defense didn't have a chance, in the 24th minute, when Anacleto Birila scored to the left of an out of position Alonzo Ihintza, making the score, 2-0. In the 27th minute Santiago Quiroga shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alonzo Ihintza saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Norberto Gaitano showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hugo Regis, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Santiago Quiroga in the 30th minute of play forced East Tandil Union's goalkeeper Alonzo Ihintza to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Agustin Valiente recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 35th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Juárez's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Agustin Valiente was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-3. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 2-3 lead.

After a rather tough play, East Tandil Union's Nereo Rosario got a free kick in the 52nd minute. Alonzo Ihintza showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Santiago Quiroga in the 60th minute of the match. In the 63rd minute Anacleto Birila shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alonzo Ihintza saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Genaro Mendez might have been able to make a better finish in the 77th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Norberto Gaitano. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Genaro Mendez ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 77th minute, Agustin Valiente made a precise shot to the right of Norberto Gaitano. Juárez's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-4. East Tandil Union made a substitution. Christian Leguizamón replaced Leonardo Jara. East Tandil Union's Hernan Nardo was substituted for Agustin Valiente. After 81 played minutes East Tandil Union got a freekick which was hit by Hugo Regis. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Hugo Regis in the 91st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Norberto Gaitano prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Hernan Nardo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Juárez's Norberto Gaitano played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hugo Regis in the 94th minute of play. The Juárez manager could be seen shouting at his players as they walked down the tunnel after the match. He was clearly angry that they had squandered their superior possession, allowing East Tandil Union to win.
