Raul Ongile made a fantastic save in the 3rd minute, when Aquilino Veremundo sent off a good shot on target. 6 minutes into the match, Peñarol MdP's goal looked a bit too open when Vladimiro Pere came free, but Raul Ongile reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 11th minute Artemio Sein shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Teo Kinsen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Dúrham getting a freekick after 11 minutes play. Leopoldo Tabor hit a great ball. Teo Kinsen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Artemio Sein, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Peñarol MdP booed when Dúrham was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Romeo Weterio didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Artemio Sein in the 24th minute of play forced Dúrham's goalkeeper Teo Kinsen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Dúrham's Teo Kinsen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Roque Tino in the 26th minute of play. 27 minutes into the match, Dúrham's goal looked a bit too open when Luis Hitz came free, but Teo Kinsen reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 27 minutes, Elvio Celino mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Dúrham and the Peñarol MdP players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Dúrham getting a freekick after 28 minutes play. Elvio Celino hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Artemio Sein in the 29th minute of play forced Dúrham's goalkeeper Teo Kinsen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Aquilino Veremundo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Raul Ongile tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Artemio Sein during the 35th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Artemio Sein kicked well hit freekick during the 35th minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jeronimo Lando got free with Raul Ongile in the 38th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Romeo Weterio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Raul Ongile having to interfere. In the 43rd match minute, Dúrham was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Romeo Weterio to maneuver through the defense. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Vladimiro Pere was the one to do the kick off. In the 51st minute, Vladimiro Pere hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, Dúrham's Romeo Weterio got a free kick in the 53rd minute. Teo Kinsen was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 54th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Roberto Veto. Raul Ongile made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Romeo Weterio in the 59th minute of play. Artemio Sein recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 64th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Peñarol MdP's Raul Ongile played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Serafin Dalmau in the 68th minute of play. In the 69th match minute, Peñarol MdP was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Artemio Sein to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of Peñarol MdP booed when Dúrham was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 82 match minutes in a wonderful position. Aquilino Veremundo didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 84 played minutes Peñarol MdP got a freekick which was hit by Roberto Veto. 95 minutes into the game, Serafin Dalmau cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Raul Ongile was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Dúrham's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
