After a rather tough play, ASOC. ATL. RIOPLATENSE's Edgardo Etxahun got a free kick in the 8th minute. Huanguelén's Raimundo Diaz got a good chance for a goal in the 12th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Arturo Mikelar's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 14thth minute, Maximo Natal skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. When Kristian Magnusson came up free with the goalie in the 16th minute, the Huanguelén fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Kristian Magnusson couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marcos Barbosa in the 17th minute of play forced ASOC. ATL. RIOPLATENSE's goalkeeper Aurelio Vedillo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 18 minutes, Raimundo Diaz mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Huanguelén and the ASOC. ATL. RIOPLATENSE players grew even worse after the yellow card. Raimundo Diaz kicked well hit freekick during the 18th minute of the match. Raimundo Diaz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. RIOPLATENSE's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Aurelio Vedillo. If Kristian Magnusson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Marcos Barbosa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Aurelio Vedillo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Aurelio Vedillo stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Marcos Barbosa's shot from short distance in the 44th minute. Aurelio Vedillo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Timoteo Vachon in the 47th minute of the match.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Gregorio Barto was the one to do the kick off. Kristian Magnusson could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 56th minute of the match, but Aurelio Vedillo made a huge save. Raimundo Diaz struck a weak shot in the 57th minute. Aurelio Vedillo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Huanguelén. Arturo Mikelar fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Maximo Natal having to interfere. In the 69thth minute of the game Raimundo Diaz who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but ASOC. ATL. RIOPLATENSE's Aurelio Vedillo was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Gregorio Barto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Arturo Mikelar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Maximo Natal made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gregorio Barto in the 76th minute of play. Marcos Barbosa's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Aurelio Vedillo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 77th minute of play. 79 minutes into the match, Huanguelén's goal looked a bit too open when Gregorio Barto came free, but Maximo Natal reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Aurelio Vedillo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marcos Barbosa, who was totally free with the ball in the 87th minute. In the 91st minute the ball was on its way in behind ASOC. ATL. RIOPLATENSE's goalkeeper Aurelio Vedillo, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Aurelio Vedillo was a little too slow when Marcos Barbosa got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 93rd minute. The score was now 0-6. Huanguelén's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
