Los Rayos's supporters crossed their fingers, but Miguel Jaunti was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Erasmo Firmo made a fantastic save in the 18th minute, when Gervasio Katia sent off a good shot on target. If Miguel Jaunti had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gaston Nesto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Miguel Jaunti in the 34th minute of play. Gervasio Katia could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 36th minute of the match, but Erasmo Firmo made a huge save. In the 38th minute, Lucio Azevedo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Erasmo Firmo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gervasio Katia in the 40th minute of play. Miguel Jaunti kicked well hit freekick during the 40th minute of the match. Gaston Nesto showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Teobaldo Beti in the 46th minute of the match. 47 minutes into the match, Wilfredo Urtzi notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Defensores de Nuñez's Gaston Nesto. Gaston Nesto was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After the first half Los Rayos were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Gervasio Katia made the kick off in the second half. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gervasio Katia in the 53rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Erasmo Firmo saved Los Rayos from getting behind. In the 64thth minute of the game Esmé Tassau who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Defensores de Nuñez's Gaston Nesto was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Wilfredo Urtzi got free with Gaston Nesto in the 66th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 68th minute, Oscar Artaldo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When the match had gone on for 72 minutes, Maximiliano Costante took a quick shot and it went in 0-3 without a chance for Gaston Nesto to make any attempt to save it. Los Rayos's Erasmo Firmo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ernesto Ishmael in the 75th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 79th minute, Maximiliano Costante managed to get in a good position for a shot. Los Rayos's supporters rose to their feet, but Maximiliano Costante was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gaston Nesto breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 80 played minutes Defensores de Nuñez got a freekick which was hit by Amadeo Cordarrol. The supporters of Los Rayos booed when Defensores de Nuñez was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 82 match minutes in a wonderful position. Amadeo Cordarrol didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ricardo Osoro kicked well hit freekick during the 84th minute of the match. When the match had gone on for 90 minutes, Maximiliano Costante put it in 0-4 from a short distance just to the right of Gaston Nesto.
